There has been so much controversy and questions surrounding the Casey Anthony trial that I decided to blog about it! I found out about the verdict through a random conversation that I didn’t even know I was listening to until I heard the name. When I got to a television I turned immediately to Nancy Grace, and repeatedly watched them declare Casey not guilty of first degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, and child abuse. She was however charged with four counts of misdemeanor on providing false information to law enforcement. This case has been going on for close to three years. If you didn’t know Casey Anthony is accused of murdering her two year old daughter, Caylee Anthony. There were many twists and turns throughout this long case. One of these twists were the mystery of Caylee Anthony’s biological father. When asked who the father of Caylee might be Casey’s attorney listed her brother Lee Anthony as a possibility. Well lets come back to that later, and just discuss the outcome of the case for now. Now we will take on two different view points in the outcome of this case.
I DISAGREE with the verdict of Casey Anthony’s trial. The evidence all pointed to her. She constantly lied to law enforcement so why should we believe what she says now? The activities on her computer and her family are all pointing fingers at her right now. When finally supposedly telling the “truth” she says that Caylee drowned in the family swimming pool. However isn’t this just another cover up seeing as Chloroform, which Casey had earlier Googled, was found in traces on Caylee. Instead of grieving like a normal mother, and telling authorities immediately Casey continued to lie to everyone. I believe Casey’s attornies played on the jury’s sympathies with this case. Using every chance they could to bring up something painful in Casey’s life. Not being cold-hearted, but they accused Casey’s brother of being Caylee’s father. Then found out it was not him. This could have been done in confidence yet it was not, because they wanted the jury to feel bad for Casey. They knew by implicating this they would bring to surface Casey’s sexual abuse. The case should be retried in the hopes of a new better verdict.
I AGREE with the verdict of Casey Anthony’s trial. There are a lot of unanswered questions in this case, and sure I do believe that Casey Anthony had a hand in her daughter’s death. If she wasn’t the one who killed her I do think she is helping in the cover story. I think Casey Anthony is guilty of child neglect and more. Why then do I agree with the verdict? Well I agree, because the prosecution had laid death penalty on the table. Though I felt Casey Anthony knew more than she was saying I didn’t feel that she deserved to die. There are plenty of people in jail for killing multiple people all over the world without death penalty even in consideration. I don’t want Casey to die for what could have been an accident. Not only do I agree with the verdict because I didn’t want Casey to die, but also because there was not enough sufficient evidence. There was plenty of inconsistencies, but not enough to convict Casey of murder.
Now instead of debating about this further I will say a prayer for Caylee Anthony tonight. Though Casey’s attornies may be celebrating this win I can’t be apart of that. They may have won the case, but they lost something bigger. Caylee Anthony is still gone. The only thing we can do is pray for Caylee, and hope that nothing like this happens to another child. Rest in Peace Caylee.
